PC Installation and Setup‎

PC Install
Physical set-up of one PC.

Includes:

  • Physically setup one PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers.
  • Conduct “out-of-box” setup, if necessary.
  • Setup user accounts.
  • Optimize start-up and shutdown processes.
  • Removal of any unwanted or trial programs.
  • Connect the PC to the internet (if there is an available connection at the location.
  • Setup browser and optimize its functionality.
  • Install all Windows updates and drivers.
  • Install any major software such as Office, Adobe, etc.
  • Install printer, external drives, and peripheral equipment.[/reveal]

Upgrades‎

All prices are for the installation and setup of the upgraded part only. Cost of parts, hardware, devices, or software are separate and additional.

All hardware installations include physical installations, installation of any necessary software/drivers (cost of software may be additional), and full testing of proper function of hardware.

RAM, Hard Drive, CD/DVD/Floppy Drives, and Peripherals
Installation of RAM, Hard Drive, CD/DVD/Floppy Drive, and any peripheral devices for the sole purpose of an upgrade or installation not connected with a First Option repair. Price is for both desktop and laptop PCs.

Expansion Cards

Power Supply
Installation of a power supply for the sole purpose of an upgrade or installation not connected with a First Option repair.

Installation of any expansion card (graphics cards, sound cards, networking cards, etc.) for the sole purpose of an upgrade or installation not connected with a TechRight repair.

Motherboard (Desktop)
Installation of a motherboard for the sole purpose of an upgrade or installation not connected with a First Option repair. Be aware, motherboard upgrades usually require the purchase of a brand new Windows license key as Microsoft considers a new motherboard to be a “new computer”. This does not apply to retail versions of Windows.

Motherboard (Laptop)
Installation‎ of a motherboard for the sole purpose of an upgrade or installation not connected with a First Option repair. Motherboard installation is much more labor intensive on a laptop than a desktop, requiring that the entire laptop be disassembled.

Software‎

Any Software (Other than Windows)

Installation and setup of software on any PC besides a custom First Option PC. Up to 3 software programs. Includes adding shortcuts, testing for proper function of software, installation of any updates or drivers required, and configuration of any specific settings when applicable.

  • Brand New Windows Installation

Installation of a single copy of Windows, any version. Includes the full setup of all user profiles, customization of settings, explanation of features, as well as optimization of start-up and shut-down processes. Setup also includes installation of all required drivers as well as installation of all current updates.

Reinstallation/Factory Reset of PC
The total factory reset and reinstallation of Windows that is currently installed and operating on a PC. Includes the full setup of all user profiles, customization of settings, explanation of features, as well as optimization of start-up and shut-down processes. Setup also includes installation of all required drivers as well as installation of all current updates.
